In Sub associates you have around 20 to 50% shareholding where in case of subsidiary you have more than 50% of shareholding. In case of less than 20% it is a normal trading and in case of 50% investment it is a Joint venture investment. It is important to remember that in case of associates there is not non controlling interest. The question of non controlling interest just arises in case of subsidiary.
